An eCard is simply an electronic card. However, sending one goes a long way in letting colleagues know they are valued for their work.
With eCards, all employees within an organization can quickly and easily thank a colleague for something they have done, to recognize effort or commend behaviour, such as living the company's values.
Sending eCards is a simple act, yet it can quickly give a organization a boost to its recognition culture. It encourages all members of staff to get involved with thanking one another for their contributions at work.
All they have to do is access their engagement portal and select the eCards option; they then type in the recipient's name using our aided search tool, select a card and write their own message, and hit send. eCards can also be sent to multiple people for team recognition.
Customizing to the organization's needs and values
The themes of the eCards can be completely tailored to each organization, which also makes it ideal for educating staff about the company's unique values.
They can be scheduled from Reward Manager to send birthdays and anniversary celebrations, and eCards can also be split into categories, and segmented by senders and recipients. This allows for manager-only eCards, or department-specific eCards, which are especially handy for internally run recognition awards, such as annual leave days, parking tickets or lunch with the boss.

Route to engagement
eCards also work to boost interaction with the client's employee engagement platform. By driving staff through the site each time they receive an eCard, they are more likely to view and interact with other areas of their platform. Plus, new employees will need to register to receive their eCard, so it gives a great opportunity to grow awareness and engagement amongst new starters.
Detailed reporting keeps track of eCard usage, and a "manager's digest" email provides insight into which team members are being recognized and showing appreciation. The content of the eCards – i.e. the personalized message – is not shared in any reports, to allow for privacy.

eCards are not limited by geography; they can be used globally and indeed are a fantastic way to build a more cohesive global company culture.
The eCards product option forms part of Reward Gateway's SmartAwards™ product, which is a chargeable product available to clients in all countries. Once SmartAwards™ is activated, the eCards are free to create and send, and there's no limit to how many can be sent.
